Privacy policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
UsTonight is built for privacy. This page describes what the native iPhone and Android apps do with information in plain language. It is not legal advice. Questions: michael@walkingriver.com.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account, email, or name to use the app.
- We do not show ads, sell in-app purchases, or sell personal data. The app is free.
- The app does not connect to the internet. On Android it does not request network permission at all, so nothing you enter can leave your phone through the app.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind.
- We do not upload your preference profiles to our servers for matching.
- We do not read your shared messages—Share uses your device’s own share sheet; we never receive a copy.
On this device
Your session (context, preferences, and the suggestion you see) is held in memory while you use a flow. It is cleared when you finish a session the app way (e.g. Done on the suggestion screen) or you start a fresh path from the home screen. We do not upload a “profile” of you to our servers.
A small setting is saved on your phone: whether you allow optional AI suggestions. It has no name or contact data—just that on/off choice, so it persists between visits.
Optional on-device AI
On phones that support it, the app uses your phone’s built-in on-device AI (Gemini Nano on Android, Apple Intelligence on iPhone) to refine a suggestion. This is on by default where available. Processing stays on your phone—nothing is sent to us or anyone else for AI enhancement. Your phone’s operating system, not the app, downloads and updates the on-device model.
On phones without on-device AI, the built-in dice-roll matcher picks the suggestion instead. To use only the built-in matcher, turn off Allow AI suggestions in About.
Share & copy
When you tap Share, the visible suggestion text (including any invite line and link we add) is passed to your operating system share UI. Who receives it is entirely your choice. When you Copy, text goes to your clipboard locally.
This website
This marketing site may log standard technical data (such as IP address for HTTPS requests) like any website. It does not receive your in-app session data.
Children
The app is intended for adults in a marriage context. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If our practices change in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
